Peanut Butter Dog Treats: Recipes and More

If you have a dog at home I would have to venture to say that they like peanut butter dog treats. My dog doesn’t just like peanut butter dog treats, he loves them!! If your dog happens to fall into the 1% of dogs that do not enjoy the taste of  peanut butter dog treats, perhaps they haven’t tried the right treats!

Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats

As I read through my emails each day, there are always at least 5 to 10 requests for a homemade peanut butter dog treats recipe. So if you are one of those people who has been wondering how to make peanut butter dog treats, your question has been answered! While I have tried several recipes for peanut butter dog treats, I chose these two for a few reasons. Even though a lot of you are ambitious when it comes to making your pup some homemade dog treats, I know that you are all probably hoping to find a recipe to make easy peanut butter dog treats. Learning how to make dog treats is easy and fun!

The first recipe that I am going to share with you is one of my favorites. It’s a simple recipe that calls for minimal ingredients and I’m sure you’ll enjoy making these easy homemade peanut butter dog treats for your pup!

Peanut Butter Dog Treats Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup oat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1 cup water
1/3 cup egg whites
1 egg
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F. Whisk together the flour, rolled oats, and cornmeal in a mixing bowl. Lightly grease two baking sheets. Place the peanut butter in a microwave safe dish, and cook in the microwave a few seconds at a time until the peanut butter has liquefied. Stir the peanut butter, water, vegetable oil, and egg into the flour mixture until a stiff dough forms. Roll out on a floured surface and cut into treat shapes with a cookie cutter. Place treats onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 10 – 12 minutes. Allow the treats to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

I second recipe that I decided to include is also a recipe for homemade dog treats with peanut butter but these treats are also filled with potassium. Can you guess what else is these treats? If you said banana then you are correct! Another great flavor that my dog goes absolutely crazy over! Here is a another great homemade dog treats recipe that I think will have both you and your dog rolling over in delight!

Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats

Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup chunky peanut butter
1 1/4 cup hot water
1 small banana peeled
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Combine the flour and oatmeal together. Add the water, peanut butter and the banana. Knead dough for about 2 minutes. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut desired shapes using floured cookie cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes. Turn off heat and cool completely in oven.

Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats

1 cup oat flour

1 cup of rolled oats

1/4 cup peanut butter

3/4 cup water

1 tsp baking powder

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine oat flour, rolled oats, and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Add peanut butter and water and mix until dough forms. Flour your surface and roll dough into 1/4″ thickness. Cut dough into desired shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1/2″ apart. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
