Making your pet gourmet dog treats is actually easier than you think. With a few simple household ingredients and a few gourmet dog treats recipes you will be able to make delicious snacks for your pooch. The recipe below will make a batch of homemade apple cinnamon dog cookies that will smell so good you may be tempted to eat one yourself! Because these dog treats are made with all human grade ingredients feel free to try one if you want.

It will take about an hour to make these cookies from start to finish. I like to pre measure all of my ingredients before I begin because it saves time. As you have seen in some of my videos, I often have my kids help me when cooking in the kitchen and having everything ready for them to dump into a bowl makes life much easier too! I also like to use a food processor or a blender when combining the wet ingredients of a recipe together. This ensures that everything is mixed really well and all you have to do is add your flour and you’ve got your dough.

This is a great recipe for dogs that are vegetarians. These particular homemade dog treats are a sweet treat that even beef and chicken lovers will enjoy. They are safe for puppies too.

1 apple (chopped)

1/4 cup honey

1/2 cup water

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1 cup oatmeal

1 1/2 cup flour

Directions: Preheat oven 350 degrees. Combine apple, honey, water and cinnamon in a blender. Mix until smooth. Pour into a large mixing bowl and add oatmeal and flour until a pasty batter forms. Use a spoon to drop batter onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Turn cookies over and bake for another 30 minutes. Let cool and serve.
