It is not surprising that organic dog treats recipes are in demand these days. More and more pet owners are wanting to feed their pets healthy dog food and dog treats. All of the pet food recalls had a lot to do with this. These dog food recalls caused pet owners to start reading the labels of the pet food and pet treats that they were feeding their pets. If you haven’t already done so, read a label of store brand dog treats. You will be shocked when you see the ingredients!

How To Make Organic Dog Treats

Making organic dog treats is really the same as making any type of homemade dog treats, you just use organic ingredients. A lot of people think that they can not make their pet homemade organic dog treats because it is simply too expensive. While organic items are usually more expensive, if you buy them in bulk you will actually end up saving money. For example, you can get 5 lbs. of certified Organic Hard Red Wheat for under $20! This particular wheat would have to be ground into flour, but that is really not a bog deal. If you plan on selling your homemade dog treats, you can expect to charge more for organic dog treats. So keep that in mind if a business is something that you are considering.

Recipes For Organic Dog Treats

So there are those of us who are brave enough to want to know how to make organic dog treats for our pets. It’s really no different than baking a batch of cookies for your kids. Making organic homemade dog treats is really easy when you have the right recipes. I wanted to share two of my favorite organic dog treats recipes. They are really simple and I’m sure your dog will love them!

Organic Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Ingredients:
2 cups organic oat flour
1 cup organic oats
1/4 cup organic peanut butter
1 1/4 cup hot water
1 tbsp. molasses
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Combine all ingredients together. Knead dough for about 2 minutes. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut desired shapes using floured cookie cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes. Turn off heat and cool completely in oven.

Organic Chicken Dog Treats

Ingredients:
1 cup organic rolled oats
1 cup organic oat flour
1 tsp. flaxseed, ground
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 can organic chopped chicken
1/3 cup water (or as needed)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Grind flaxseeds, set aside. In food processor, grind oats to a coarse flour. Add all other ingredients and blend on and off until mixture comes together to form a ball. If mixture is too dry add more water, a teaspoon at a time. Place dough onto a lightly floured work surface and knead until the dough is soft, about 1 minute. Roll to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cut into shapes using a floured cookie cutter. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake for about 20 – 25 minutes or until firm and nicely browned. Cool treats on a wire rack.

Organic Dog Treats

Feeding your pet organic dog food and organic dog treats are a sure way to keep you pet happy and healthy. Organic pet products are made with all organic ingredients, which means there are absolute NO pesticides, preservatives, or harmful by-products in them. All of the ingredients that are put into these types of products have been grown without the use of pesticides and when the treats are made, nothing harmful goes into them to preserve them. You really can’t any healthier than organic. There are several well known companies that produce organic dog treats. Wet Noses Organic Dog Treats has an excellent selection of reasonably priced organic dog treats. they are one of the most reputable companies on the market today and my dog has never turned his nose up to any of them! If you are thinking about giving your dog some organic dog treats, but you do not have the time to make organic homemade dog treats, I would certainly recommend these! Here are few of my dog’s favorites.
The number of pet owners who are feeding their pet’s healthy food and treats is on the rise. All natural pet products, especially organic dog treats, have become a healthy alternative to many of the mass produced pet products that may contain harmful preservatives and by-products.

Organic Dog Bakery

One of best places to find healthy organic dog treats is at an organic dog bakery. Dog bakery’s have become increasing popular over the past few years. I actually started my own dog bakery called The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery. While I myself do not specialize in making organic pet treats, there are plenty of dog bakeries out there that do. Some of the best organic dog treats can be found online. While browsing the web looking for some organic dog treats wholesale bakeries, I came across The Organic Dog Bakery. They had some of the cutest mini pup cakes that I have ever seen! Thinking of ordering a few for my pooch this week end!

Organic Dog Treat Recipes

While a lot of people purchase dog treats for their pets, there are those pet owners who enjoy baking their own homemade dog treats. Because my dog bakery doesn’t really specialize in organic treats I decided to look for some organic dog treat recipes online. The Internet is full of great dog treat recipes! I found an organic peanut butter dog treat recipe and I can’t wait to try it out!

Homemade organic Dog Treats

Because I have some experience in the industry I figured that baking organic homemade dog treats wouldn’t be too much of a challenge. The only real difference between my homemade dog treat recipes and the homemade organic dog treat recipes are the ingredients. All of the ingredients have to be organic in order to call your dog treats organic. You can’t just use one organic ingredient in the recipe. It has to be across the board.

How To make Organic Dog Treats

If you are considering making organic pet treats there are a few resources that I would suggest reading before you start. There is an excellent e-book full of very helpful information on how to start your own dog bakery. I actually ordered it myself and think it would be beneficial to read. It will help you decide if making organic pet treats is something that you would really like to do. It will also show you how turn this passion into profits! One thing that I can tell you is that organic ingredients are more expensive the average grade ingredients. The flours especially can get pricey, so you may want to buy them in bulk. There are plenty of wholesale outlets that offer ingredients like flour at great prices.

Sweet Potato Organic Dog Treats

The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery is a dog bakery that specializes in all natural dog treats. The number of our customers asking for organic products seems to on the rise so I am considering adding some natural organic dog treats to our menu. One of our most popular dog treats are our healthy sweet potato dog treats. I am going to change the dog treat recipe to use all natural, organic ingredients and see if these organic gourmet dog treats are still a best seller.
When I first started baking homemade dog treats I really wasn’t aware of all the little tricks that can really make baking dog treats so much easier. Two of the most important tips that I wish I would have been aware of how to keep your dog treats from rising and “puffing” up when baking and more importantly, how to increase the shelf life of your homemade dog treats.

If you have been homemade dog treats for a while then you have probably had to deal with your dog treats rising too much when you bake them. When I first started baking snacks for my dog I used to get rather annoyed when I would take the treats out of the oven only to find that they had taken on new shapes while baking. I remember cutting a batch of peanut butter dog treats into dog bone shapes and when I took them out of the oven they looked more like swollen baseball bats! I tried cutting out the baking powder from the dog treat recipes which helped a little, but the treats would still rise unevenly giving them a rather distorted look when they came out of the oven.

You can prevent your homemade dog treats from rising unevenly by simply using a fork to make holes throughout the dog biscuit. You can follow the pattern of the cookie cutter that you are using to make sort of a pattern. Creating a pattern prevents the dog treats from looking sloppy and it also ensures that they will rise evenly.

If you look closely at the picture to your left you will see that I used a fork to make holes in the Schnauzer cookies, the cup cake cookies and the dog biscuits. Try it out, it really helps!

The next tip that I would like to share will increase the shelf life of your homemade dog treats dramatically. You have to be aware of the water content in your dog treats. The lower water content, the longer your treats will last. I wish I would have known this when I started baking homemade treats years ago!

A few of the recipes that I used had high moisture ingredients like milk, egg, and water. The more of these ingredients that you use, the chances are that your treats will have a high moisture content which leads to a short shelf life. A few ways to reduce moisture content in your homemade dog treats are use dry ingredients as apposed to wet ones. For example, use powdered milk instead of fresh milk. You can also bake your treats at a lower temperature for a longer time. This will actually dry the treats out and dry dog treats last loner. You can also invest in a food dehydrator to reduce the moisture level in your homemade dog treats.

When it comes to feeding their dog, most pet owners are not aware of what their pets are ingesting. Most of the commercially produced pet foods and pet treats are full of harmful preservatives and by-products that can cause serious health problems for your pet. Phosphoric Acid, Butylated Hydroxysanisole, Ethoxyquin, Sorbitol or Propylene Glycol; which is used in antifreeze, are just some of the harmful products found in many mass produced pet foods. The truth of the matter is that there have been over 5,000 pet food scares since 2006. This includes but is not limited to all of the pet foods and pet treats that were recalled. Many of these by-products have been linked to cancer, obesity, heart attack, kidney disease and death. In fact, there were over 3,600 pet deaths linked to tainted pet foods.

The best way to ensure that that your pet is consuming safe and healthy dog food and dog treats is by feeding them homemade dog treats. Homemade dog treats have become increasingly popular amongst concerned pet owners and they have taken the pet industry by storm. Homemade dog food and homemade dog treats are an excellent alternative to mass produced pet products, however most owners are not aware of the nutritional needs of their dogs. It’s not uncommon for many homemade diets to be lacking the key nutrients a dog needs to maintain optimal health. Some believe, that homemade dog diets are way to time consuming and a bit expensive.

Having owned a Gourmet Dog Bakery for the past several years, I have a lot of experience with coming up with catchy names for homemade dog treats. We have found that giving naming… (more...)

Having owned a Gourmet Dog Bakery for the past several years, I have a lot of experience with coming up with catchy names for homemade dog treats. All of the dog treats that we sell at The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery have been given a unique name to make them stand out from our competition. We have found that giving naming our everyday dog biscuits “Beggin Beagle Biscuits” makes them more appealing to our customers, especially beagle owners.

The name of the bakery was created using some of the helpful tips that I will be sharing with you today. If you are thinking about starting your own dog bakery business this article will be very helpful. You’ll definitely be able to use these tips when trying to come up with names for your own homemade dog treats.

One of the first things that I do when I am thinking about a name for my homemade dog treats is make a list of all of the ingredients that are in the dog treats. I tend to focus on the main ingredient that is used in the dog recipe. For example, when I created the Beggin’ Beagle’s “Cheesy Chihuahua Chews”, I knew that I wanted the name of these dog treats to have cheese in it because cheese was the main ingredient. Cheese flavored dog biscuits are one of the most popular dog treats on the market today so I wanted ours to stand out. rather than just calling them cheese dog biscuits I decided to calling them “Cheesy Chihuahua Chews.” You can’t image how excited so many Chihuahua lovers were when they found these all natural dog treats!

The next thing I take into consideration when coming up with a name for our homemade dog treats is the actual shape of the dog treats. One of the most popular shapes of dog biscuits is the traditional dog bone. We certainly have these popular style treats at The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery, but we also like to have other interesting shapes specific to each type of treat. For example, our Cheesy Chihuahua Chews are actually made in the shape of a Chihuahua. They are made using a little more baking soda which gives them a chewy texture.

Texture is another feature that will help you when naming your homemade dog treats. Another one of our popular dog treats at the bakery are our “Crunchy Beagle Bites.” These dog biscuits are bit harder than the Cheesy Chihuahua Chews and they w ill certainly make a crunch when your dog bites into them!

As you can see, there are many ways to help you decide on the best name for your homemade dog treats. Get a look at some more of our creations at The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery.

Homemade dog treats have become increasingly popular over the last decade. More and more pet owners are concerned about what their pet’s are eating and they are turning to all natural pet products. All natural dog treats are free of harmful chemicals and preservatives that could be harmful to your pet. Most homemade dog treats are made with high quality human grade ingredients and they are one the safest pet treats on the market today. So where can you get your furry friend some of these tasty treats? Searching the internet for homemade dog treats or all natural homemade pet treats is great place to start. However, one the most common places that you can find these tasty snacks is at local craft fairs.

The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery is a well known dog bakery that started out by selling their homemade dog treats at local craft fairs. If you have ever been to a craft fair then you know that most of the vendors at these events are there to showcase their hand crafted work. You can find things from homemade jewelry, to oil paintings, to lawn decorations to homemade pet treats. Craft fairs attract a lot of people and it’s a great way to get your business out there. Handing out coupons and free samples are a great way for vendors to attract new customers. Many vendors often hand out free samples as well.

Long Island hosts hundreds of craft fairs throughout the year. The spring and fall festivals are usually the bigger events, but you can find some great holiday and summer fairs too. The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery is located on Long Island and they often participate in local craft fairs. Sayville, NY is one the best places to go to a craft fair and The Beagle Bakery Bakery will be at The Americana Fair at Islip Grange in Sayville this June. The Americana fair will be held on Saturday June 11, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be music, pony rides, a petting zoo among other activities. The rain date June 12, 2011.

If you are going to be in the area be sure to look for The Beggin’ Beagle Bakery’s booth. The bakery always has a wide variety of homemade dog treats and this year they will raffling off a huge basket full of tasty gourmet dog treats!

One of the leading brands of all natural dog treats are made by Blue Dog Food Company. Blue Dog Food has a new line healthy homemade dog dog treats that include just about everything your pooch could ever want. This extensive line of dog treats include dog jerky, grain-free dog biscuits, mini biscuits, dog bones, meaty moist dog treats and soft-moist training treats. Each one of these dog treats are made with high quality all natural ingredients and are pawsitively delicious!

I recently purchased some Blue Bits Tasty Chicken Natural Soft-Moist Training Treats for my new beagle puppies. Training a puppy is a tedious process that can at times be very frustrating. However, if you have the right tools to work with, it can be an enjoyable experience for both you and your pup.

My new beagle pups just loved the BLUE Bits™ all natural dog training treats. They are soft, moist and extremely tasty dog treats. They look like homemade dog treats that were baked especially for your furry friend. They are absolutely perfect for training and perfect for treating you pup when they have done something that deserves a reward. BLUE Bits are a healthy and nutritious snack that your dog will love. Each little meaty morsel is loaded with good stuff like:

Chicken
A high-quality protein source

DHA
To help support cognitive development

Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids
To help promote healthy skin and coat

It’s important that you only feed your pup any type of dog treat in moderation. Although your furry friend would probably love to eat the whole bag, BLUE Bits are training treats and they are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. While they are designed for training they are an ideal reward for dogs of all ages, sizes and tastes.

Registered Name: MAX
Birthday: June 2007
Breed: Beagle
Favorite treat: Waggin Train Chicken Treats
Favorite food: Chicken
Favorite sport: Going for walks
Favorite place to sleep: With his Mommie of course

Max was a one year old beagle that was taken to a shelter with his brother because his parents were moving and couldn’t take them. My beloved pooch had just passed and since my brother offered to get me another dog I went looking at a shelter over an hour from my home. I saw Max the first time I was there and fell in love with him. I did choose another dog who was closer to my Maggie’s breed. This dog did not work out so I took her back and to my joy Max was still there. He had evidently been there several months before I adopted him. One look into his soulful brown eyes and I knew he was meant to be mine. We had our trials and the usual getting used to each other. He did not like his crate at all so through trial and error I determined that he was claustrophobic and did not have separation anxiety like I had thought. I threw the crate away and now Max is the perfect companion. He has a sweet gentle disposition and if I’m feeling down all he has to do! is look at me with those beautiful eyes and he makes it all not so bad. He is the perfect pet and I thank God that he led me back to that shelter and that Max is mine now. He has been with me over two years now and he is truly the joy of my life.

Although these snacks may not be homemade dog treats that are baked up in your kitchen, you can see that they are made with wholesome ingredients. Wholesome ingredients support proper growth which is very important for growing puppies. Another great feature of these dog biscuits is the way they are made. Each dog biscuit is actually made as four biscuits in one. These all natural dog treats are great for training because you can break off a piece every time your dog deserves a reward. The peppermint flavor is also great for fresh breathe.

While recipes for all natural dog treats and gourmet dog treats are still number one, I’m finding that the demand for dog birthday cake recipes is also on the rise.

You can search for a dog bakery in your area if you are really not comfortable in the kitchen, but if you like to bake I have a great recipe for a an adorable dog birthday cake.

You will need to get a few things before you start so get your pen and paper and start making your list. You will need oat flour, canola oil, baking powder, egg, cinnamon, peanut butter, yogurt chips and/or peanut butter chips. If your dog is allergic to peanut butter you can substitute the peanut butter with either carrot or pumpkin. You will also need a 6″ round cake dish.

Ingredients:

3 cups of oat flour

1 egg

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 cup peanut butter ( 1/4 cup of pumpkin or shredded carrots)

2 tsp. canola oil

1 cup water

1 small bag of yogurt melts (any color)

1/2 cup of peanut butter chips

Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Add egg, canola oil, peanut butter and water. mix together until a smooth batter forms. Add more water if batter is too thick. Grease and flour cake pan. Pour batter into cake pan. Bake for 45 minutes. Use a tooth pick to check for readiness. Let cool and remove from pan.

Icing Directions: Melt yogurt chips. Once cake has cooled, frost the cake with the melted yogurt chips. Melt peanut butter chips and use to decorate cake.

This is one of the easiest recipes for a dog birthday cake. I have two husky puppies that just love it!!
