Quick and Easy Dog Treat Recipes

Speaking of easy dog treat recipes….

A lot of people aren’t interested in learning how to make homemade dog treats because they are under the impression that it takes too long. Well, this site is full of easy homemade dog treat recipes and I’m going to share one with you right now! The following dog treat recipe is a little bland so what I do is add a little with either a chicken or beef bouillon cube. Simply dissolve the cube in the hot water and add it to the rest of the ingredients. Just a suggestion for those of you who have picky dogs:)

3 cups oat flour

3/4 cup hot water

1/3 margarine or butter

1/2 cup powdered milk

1 egg , beaten

Directions: Preheat the oven to 325F. In a large bowl pour hot water over the margarine or butter. Stir in the powdered milk. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Knead for a few minutes to form a stiff dough. Pat or roll to 1/2 thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Bake for 50 minutes. Let them cool. They will dry out quite hard. Makes about 1 1/4 pounds of biscuits.

If I have said it once, I’ve said it ten times… dog love peanut butter! Peanut butter is a great ingredient to use because of the healthy oil found in peanut butter. Dog’s need a little fat and oil in their diet, so this a great way to provide them with it! I know I said that I was sharing easy dog treat recipes today, however, healthy is also part of the deal:) So, here is another one of my favorite easy to make dog treats recipes.

Easy Dog Biscuit Recipes

A few days ago I mentioned that I was going to start adding “How To” videos for easy dog treat recipes, free of course, on my site. Well, my dog’s cookie jar was empty yesterday so I whipped up a batch of homemade dog treats and recorded it! I have this cool little app on my iPhone called Reel Director and you can record, edit and publish videos with a few taps of the screen. So I used it:)

easy dog treat recipesI actually made this recipe up yesterday. When you have been making homemade dog treats for as long as I have been, you’ll see that creating homemade dog treat recipes is really easy.  I’m going to add this one to the easy dog treat recipes for kids section because it’s great for the little guys!

This particular recipe uses minimal ingredients and it makes a really healthy snack for your dog. It uses canned pumpkin which is low in fat and it also tastes great. I used whole wheat flour but if your dog has wheat allergies you can always substitute oat flour for the wheat. So if you have been looking for easy dog treat recipes, give this one a try!

I’m including the video below as well. Just keep in mind, in the video I say to bake the treats for 15 minutes, but you can keep them in for another 5 minutes or so for a crispier treat.
